Created in 1989 to build UW sustainable agriculture research programs that respond to farmer and citizen needs and involve them in setting research agendas.

Established in 1889, CALS carries out UW-Madison’s mission as a land-grant public university through excellence in teaching, research and public outreach across 19 academic fields.

Research, teaching and outreach in agricultural and applied economics.

The mission of this project is to promote safety on Wisconsin dairy farms while, at the same time, improving profitability. Their promotional efforts have thus far been concentrated on three production agriculture technologies that couple increased profitability with improved working conditions and safety.
